A woodcut that I recently did. The only good piece of work that I think I did in my printmaking class.

Amalthea is a Greek nymph. When Rhea gave away Zeus in order to save him from Cronos, she gave him to the nymph Amalthea whom was in the form of a goat. Later on in life, Zeus got angry at Amalthea for something or other and ended up breaking off her horns. Later, feeling guilty for what he had done, he gave her the horns back in the forms of cornicopias, so that she would never go hungry.

This is an illustration of that nymph

and thanks! she did the salome one, right? i remember seeing that in my 2D class and falling in love with it.

Yup, he sure did. In fact it was Oscar Wilde, who was writing a version of Salome in French, who asked Beardsley to illustrate it for him....so thar ya go...:)
